PAST HIGHLIGHTS

It is with deep regret that I report
the passing of Ernie Harvey

Last known pic of Ernie at the Christmas meeting in December
2020. He is in the blue shirt pondering some paperwork.
He was in the hospital undergoing Covid 19 treatment when he
was found dead in his room on Jan,13, 2021.
He and I go back 37 years. He was an Engineers Engineer.
I think he worked at and for every New Orleans TV station.
Even in retirement he was active keeping stations on the air.
Sorry for the bad pic ,it was all I had on file. He will be
missed by one and all .
RIP EH
This from the TP
Ernie was born February 2, 1953 and on
Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Ernie passed this earth into the
peaceful loving hands of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. He
is survived by his wife, sweetheart and devoted love Deanna
Hess Harvey, where life was filled with holding hands, walking
the beaches, and viewing sunsets in Gulf Shores, AL. He was a
loving father to his daughter Ann Marie Thomas and her husband
Brian Thomas. He was Pops to his adored grandchildren, Alex,
Jenna, Connor and Cara Thomas. So many happy memories will
linger so lovingly that will always keep Pops alive within
their hearts. Ernie is also survived by his loving sister
Patricia Harris. He was like a son to his in-laws, Jean and
Marion Hess. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Marion
Hess Jr. (Viviana Mongiat) and sister-in-law, Melissa Hess
(Georges Daou). His loyal faithful dog Jack was his joy and
comfort. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia
Lyons Harvey, father, Ernest L. Harvey, Sr., and brother, John
S. Harvey. Ernie was a graduate of Jesuit High School where he
started the school's first radio club. He graduated from
Loyola University with a degree in Communications and earned
an electrical engineering degree from UNO. He was a Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer. Ernie was a member of Bacchus for
over 30 years and he was the head of the prestigious Riding
Lieutenants. He was a CPBE member and certification chairman
of the Society of Broadcasting Engineers Chapter 72 in New
Orleans. Ernie was chief engineer and constructed many TV and
radio stations including the Telemundo 42, KGLA, WDSU, WVOG,
WWL, WLAE, WLTS, WGSO, WPXL, WNOL, TV Azteca, and Lite 105. He
worked at the LA Superdome and was a site manager at Load
Star. He enjoyed flying and had attained his Pilot's license.
He was loved and admired by so many people. Ernie stood very
tall, walked with true faith, loved deeply as a Christian man,
and was always eager to help anyone who needed him. We can all
be thankful sharing his path. Services for Ernie will be held
on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Church at
444 Metairie Rd, Metairie, LA 70005. There will be a
visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a 12:00 PM Mass.

Cemetery. Due to the covid-19 restrictions, all guests must
wear a facemask and practice social distancing. The family
