TITLE OF POSITION: Chief Technology Officer/Director of Broadcast Engineering

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $90,765.23 - $123,894.54

 GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer/Director of Broadcast Engineering (CTO) with exceptional management and interpersonal skills who can translate ideas into action. They will need to effectively manage complex projects, accomplishing ambitious goals via strong leadership. The CTO will oversee the overall technology strategy of MPB, spanning IT, Media, and Broadcast Systems planning, strategy, systems implementation, and procurement. They will develop and administer the planning, management, and supervision of MPB's Information Technology and Technical Services Departments. The CTO will define and execute a technology strategy and roadmap in alignment with MPB's mission and goals, staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. This position will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment including Servers, Routers, Switches, Audio and Television Studios, FM Radio, Digital Television, and RF broadcasting systems. The CTO will be responsible for broadcast facility maintenance and management including all building and grounds maintenance needs, broadcast tower maintenance, and remote transmitter site maintenance, ensuring all FCC rules and regulations are followed and that stations are in complete compliance with FCC, FAA, EPA, OSHA as well as State and local regulations. The successful candidate will have a firm understanding of the role technology plays in today's media business models, have a vision for how information technology and broadcast infrastructure processes support the operations of a multi-faceted media organization, and be able to effectively leverage emerging technology and a team of knowledgeable professionals to deliver transformational organizational impact. This position guides a staff of employees with direct reports who oversee broadcast engineering, RF transmission and information systems. This is an Exempt Non-State Service position.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of Broadcast Engineering and IT experience.
